How we compare prices and rank contractors

A plan subscription and advertising change no order at all: not the contractor list, not the price comparison, not how requests are distributed. A verification level cannot be bought — only earned by checks. A paid banner sits apart, next to the list, labelled “Ad” (see “Advertising rules”).

The list shows only contractors whose profile is complete and has been reviewed by a SIVRCE administrator, who are not suspended and are not demo accounts. Filters: city, specialisation, minimum rating.

Order: by rating (descending); at equal rating — by number of reviews.

Only a homeowner who has accepted the work can leave a review (see “Review policy”). One review per project, from 1 to 5.

The rating shown is not a plain average. Formula: (4.5 × 5 + sum of ratings) ÷ (5 + number of reviews). Example: a single “5” gives 4.58, not 5.0. The more reviews, the closer the rating gets to the contractor's own average.

A contractor with no reviews shows no rating (“no reviews yet”) and is placed at 4.5 in the list — neither above nor below.

Every review — stars, date and text — is shown on the contractor's profile.

The level does not affect the order of the list. It states what we checked; it is not a guarantee of the quality of work.

A renovation request goes to five contractors. Points: type of property, city, rating, number of reviews; anyone who received many requests in the last 14 days loses a few points, so the same people do not always get them. One place is kept for a new contractor without reviews.

A request for an architect or designer goes to eight professionals with that specialisation, those in your city first.

No requests go to a contractor who has switched them off, is under review or suspended, or has a SIVRCE invoice unpaid for more than 14 days and not disputed.

Automatic check: a rating below 3.0 with 5 or more reviews, deadlines systematically missed on three or more projects within a year, or two voided payments — new requests pause until an administrator reviews the case. The contractor stays in the list.

• Source — the shop's own price list (file, photo, WhatsApp or API). SIVRCE does not invent or edit prices.
• On intake we check: a first price must have a unit; a jump of more than 40% against the shop's own previous price, and a price more than three times away from other shops' median, go to a human check before display.
• We compare by material class (e.g. “filler, standard”) — only in your city, only current prices backed by a source document.
• Order — by unit price, ascending. You see the “from–to” range, the cheapest shop with a link and how many other shops there are.
• When a class has 6 or more offers, we drop those more than 5 times away from the median — almost always a unit error.
• “Confirmed” means the shop itself confirmed the price with the “All correct” button, not that SIVRCE checked the shelf. An unconfirmed price shows “not confirmed · since <date>”.
• A price older than 45 days shows its age.
• A shop with a SIVRCE invoice unpaid for more than 14 days and not disputed temporarily disappears from the comparison. It is a sanction for debt, not a sale of position.
• Not accounted for: delivery, stock, discounts, brand within a class. “Cheapest” means only the unit price on the date shown next to it.

The estimate and the “Market prices” page are built from SIVRCE's price list of works (labour and material apart, standard class, Tbilisi). It is an indicative calculation; the exact price is named by the contractor after a visit. Editing the price list changes estimates, not a contractor's offer.

Write to us under the “Complaints and disputes” procedure. A shop can correct its price in its cabinet; a contractor can complain about a review.
